Last Week: --------------------------- Denver was drubbed by the Chargers for the 2nd time this season. The final was 23-3 and if you played anyone you probably didn't fare very well. B Marshall had 75 yards and he was the star. Enough said?
This Week: --------------------------- Denver hosts the Vikings. Let's see if they have anything left in the tank. Doubtful. Prediction: Denver 17 Minn 27
Rumors: --------------------------- The rumor mill is closed.
Injuries: --------------------------- Stokley and D Graham are questionable and neither warrants a start.
Position Analysis: --------------------------- QUARTERBACKS: Cutler had a bad game. 155 yards, 0 TDs and 2 INTs. Not knowing if anyone's going to show up, bench him this week.Week 17 Projection: Cutler 210 yards, 1 TDs.
RUNNING BACKS: Henry and Young split carries again and neither did well. Perhaps Hall will get some looks this week but bench all RBs.Week 17 Projections: Henry - 50 total yards, 0 TD. Young - 35 yards, 0 TD. Hall - 20 yards.
WIDE RECEIVERS: Marshall is the only guy worth starting here. Walker obviously still has some issues. Week 17 Projections: Marshall - 80 yards, 1 TD. Walker - 40 yards, 0 TD.
TIGHT ENDS: Scheffler came back to earth last week but still had some catches. He could be a start if you're desperate but don't look for a ton... maybe 50 yards.
PLACE KICKER: Elam oly saw one scoring chance last week but he could be used in a pinch as well.
DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS: As with last week, bench the D. They are going to struggle to stop the run and Minn will find ways to score.

| Kansas City Chiefs |

Last Week: --------------------------- Lions 25, Chiefs 20: If you just looked at the stats, you'd think the Chiefs completely outplayed the Lions, but the truth is that both teams really blow (ahhhh, that's the kind of insight you can only find here, right?). The Chiefs defense really only gave up three HUGE running plays that accounted for most of the Lions yardage (but it still counts, right?). The Chiefs special teams gave up a safety on a blocked punt, and Chiefs QB, Brodie Croyle, threw a pick-six interception in the second quarter that gave the Lions a 19-0 lead. On the interception, Croyle hurt his arm and had to leave the game. Damon Huard came on in relief and threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns. Too bad nobody was playing him as their fantasy starter, huh? For the Chiefs, some guy that I literally never heard of before scored our first touchdown (some RB named Battle who just came in off the practice squad), our All-Pro defensive end (Jared Allen) scored our second touchdown playing TE on offense, and thank goodness that WR Dwayne Bowe restored fantasy order by snagging his fifth touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter. Hall-of-Fame TE, Tony Gonzalez, should have wrapped up the Chiefs MVP award by gaining over 100 yards receiving in the first half alone. It sucks that Allen is now becoming a better option in the red zone, but teams are triple-teaming Gonzalez at that end of the field and it would be suicidal for Chiefs QBs to try and force the ball to him.
This Week: --------------------------- For the five of you readers who are still playing fantasy ball in Week 17 (are you guys nuts or what???), the Chiefs travel to New York to take on the Jets in the Herm Edwards Bowl. Jets fans love nothing more than to call up Kansas City radio stations and tell us how much they hate Herm. We Chiefs fans can only say ... "Guys, give it up ... Herm hasn't been your coach for two years now and you've got the 'Man-genius' running your team now. How's that working out for you???"
Rumors: --------------------------- At least we locals have Mizzou and KU to cheer for this week in the Cotton and Orange Bowls. Look for Mizzou to put 50+ up on the Razorbacks, and for KU to lose a close one to V-Tech.
Injuries: --------------------------- Nothing that will affect your fantasy squad. Oh wait, did you say that you were stupid enough (like me) to draft Larry Johnson with a high pick (like me), and you bought the Chiefs line of bull when they never admitted that he had a broken foot and REFUSED to put him on the I.R. even though they've lost a record-tying EIGHT games in a row and their season spiraled down the drain (like my Larry Johnson-led fantasy team)? Hey Chiefs, thanks for teasing us fantasy owners by saying that LJ was almost ready to come back for the last EIGHT FREAKING WEEKS and not letting us drop Johnson like a hot potato and pick up someone who could have actually scored some fantasy points for us. Yeah ... that's great.
Position Analysis: --------------------------- QUARTERBACKS: Brodie Croyle arm was numb all week, but he threw some passes in practice on Wednesday. Herm is absolutely infatuated with Croyle and will start him even if he can't lift his arm up. But don't worry, Damon Huard will probably come into the game in the second or third quarter and throw for a couple hundred yards against a crummy Jets defense. Projection: Croyle - 130 yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 INT, Huard - 200 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 INT..
RUNNING BACKS: Kolby Smith is the only person to start and he's only a #2 fantasy RB at the absolute best. Projection: Smith - 110 total yards, 0 touchdowns.
WIDE RECEIVERS: At WR, Dwayne Bowe is the only person worth starting. Projection: Bowe - 8 catches, 85 yards, 1 touchdown; Parker/Webb/Kennison - 6 catches, 65 yards combined.
TIGHT ENDS: Tony Gonzalez is eight catches away from getting 100 for the season. The Chiefs QBs will try to get that for him in the first half alone! The only sure-fire fantasy lock on the Chiefs right now is Gonzo. Projection: 10 catches, 110 yards, 1 TD.
PLACE KICKER: I wouldn't play Carney. His range is so bad right now that Herm won't go for anything over 35 yards. He'll go for it on fourth down instead of relying on the kicker. Projection: 1 FG, 3 XP
DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS: Call me crazy (and many of you have done so) but the Chiefs D could be a nice sleeper pick this week. Thomas Jones isn't the kind of RB that will burn the Chiefs for 120 yards, and the weather could affect the Jets passing game. I'm looking for a fairly low-scoring game this week and the Chiefs can easily come up with a couple of turnovers. Feel free to start the Chiefs.

| Oakland Raiders |

Last Week: --------------------------- Jags - 49, Raiders - 11: "Pssssttt ... here's a secret: The Raiders didn't show up last week." Let's just move onto this week, shall we?
This Week: --------------------------- The Raiders welcome an ill-tempered San Diego team to Oakland for a Sunday afternoon game. San Diego is trying to lock up the #3 seed for the playoffs because they're afraid of the Jacksonville Jaguars and don't want to play them in the first round of the playoffs. After the performance we put on last week, I don't blame them. Don't look for San Diego to rest many starters unless they also take a 28-point lead in the first half like the Jags did.
Rumors: ---------------------------
Injuries: --------------------------- Nothing other than Justin Fargas, who is still out.
Position Analysis: --------------------------- Quarterback: #1 draft pick, JaMarcus Russell gets his first NFL start. JaMarcus ... meet Shawne Merriman. Do NOT play Russell unless you're a member of the Raider Nation and you don't care about winning your fantasy game.
Running Back: The Raiders physically cannot run against the Chargers. But, if you have to start a Raider RB, I'd probably go with Dominic Rhodes.
Wide Receivers: Ignore all Raider WRs. Russell will probably get picked off at least three or four times and the heartless Raider WRs will have mentally checked out by halftime.
Tight Ends: Miller is the main man, and not much worth. No value here.
Kicker: I'm not sure that Janikowski will get more than one or two FG attempts, and he may not get any XP tries.
Defense/Special Teams: To be honest, I get the feeling that San Diego has a chip on their shoulder the size of a California Redwood because everyone disrespects thier coach and thinks that Philip Rivers is a punk. Well, ok ... at least I think that's true. But, they have LaDainian Tomlinson, who is as hot right now as he's been since last year. Tomlinson may have two touchdowns and 120 yards in the first half alone, and then you'll see Darren Sproles and Michael Turner in the second half. I know the Raiders played well against the Colts a couple of weeks ago, but Indy doesn't despise the Raiders like Norv and the Chargers do, so avoid the Raiders defense this week.

Last Week: ---------------------------
The Broncos scored a total of six points in two games against the Chargers this year, and have lost four straight games to the Bolts as well. Maybe the Broncos are rebuilding?
This Week: --------------------------- The (first Place Chargers) will go to Oakland and face a bad Raiders team. I hope the boys come away with no significant injuries.
The Chargers are playing for the third seed in the AFC playoffs, so my guess is they will play the starters until the win is secured.
The league I play in has both head to head play and total points for the season. Our Superbowl is week 16, and total points runs through week 17. I would not play any Chargers this week unless you need to fill a RB spot.
Rumors: --------------------------- Chargers are going to the Superbowl. Ok, I started this one.
Injuries: ---------------------------
Position Analysis: --------------------------- QUARTERBACKS:
DO NOT PLAY
RUNNING BACKS:
LT might get some 1st half work as he tries to secure the rushing title. Darren Sproles and Michael Turner will the bulk of the load.WIDE RECEIVERS:
DO NOT PLAY.
TIGHT ENDS:
Antonio Gates I would play only in leagues where a TE is required.
PLACE KICKER:
Nate Kaeding: will get more opportunities as Rivers is playing better. 2 FGs this week.
DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS:
Defense: The defense is playing well the last few weeks. Worth a start if your season is still on.
Special Teams: ST are doing great in all phases. The best in the league right now. Go Chargers.
